The Problem

  • Project Cowork, a growing coworking company in San Antonio, was struggling with an ineffective website. Their site lacked structure and clarity, leading to a high bounce rate and low conversion rate.

  • Information was difficult to find, room rentals and tour bookings required manual support, and prospects were more likely to bounce than to book.

  • How can Project Cowork improve their website to communicate their brand and product offerings clearly, while efficiently converting traffic into bookings and signed leases without sales team intervention?

My Strategy

  • Add information without overcommunicating: Where the old website had less than 5 pages, I created 20 pages for the new site. This included: writing new copy specific to locations and products; optimizing front and back-end content for SEO; and creating new landing pages in tandem with a paid ads consultant. Although I increased the number of pages on the site, each page was strategically chosen and developed to support a natural user journey.

  • Clarify Project Cowork’s unique value propositions: The old website was very matter-of-fact and did not effectively communicate Project Cowork’s products or unique brand perspective. After creating refreshed brand guidelines for Project Cowork, I wrote all new website copy to bring those differentiators to the forefront. With the new information architecture and clear copy, the new website made it easier for prospects to explore offerings, compare options between Project Cowork and its competitors, and take action without needing to call or email the team.

  • Build with growth in mind: Collaborating with the web developers, I implemented templatized pages, integrated forms, 3rd party apps, and analytics tracking to ensure Project Cowork could continue to use this website as they expand locations, offer new services, and need to make informed decisions about future marketing and sales strategies.

My Solution

  • Improve the website UX and architecture so information is clear and easy to find.

  • Optimize website for online conversion and reduce the need for team’s intervention to assist customers with basic questions or requests.

  • Hire top-of-the-line web development, SEO, and paid advertising partners to ensure website is built sustainably and able to scale.

The Results

In the 6 weeks after the new website launched, the impact was immediate:

  • Average of 21 room rentals per month – up from just 1 per month previously

  • Average 8+ min on site, with up to 20–30 min for some users

  • 30% increase in online bookings, leading to fewer customer support emails and phone calls

  • $3000+ in direct revenue from online bookings in just one month
